The House of the 98th Dream.
(From My head feels light and my feet hurt: a guide to getting around Umbagollah by the retired troubadour Adrian Windowbook.)
"Like most of Jail's pleasure houses, the House of the 98th Dream was built exclusively for women. Two years later the proprietors, Misses Hortense Oatlash and Venus De Sade took the unusual step of opening the house to men.
"The trouble we have with men is that they become addicted," says Miss De Sade. "We had one customer who wouldn't get out of the Fresh Bread Room. He sat there for six days. We had to lure him out into the street with a croissant."
The Fresh Bread Room is part of the Smelling Pleasure Wing, along with the Smell of Straw Thatch Room, the Heady Scent of Grass and Earth Room, the Frying and Baking Room and the Request Room, where pleasurable smells can be produced on demand.
Adjacent to the Smelling Pleasure Wing is the Touch Pleasure Wing where you can find the Stroking Fur Room and the famous masochists' Spine and Thorn Chamber where the annual festival of the swordfish begins. Then there are eleven other Wings devoted to different pleasures: Hearing, Taste, Childhood, Society, Sleep, Exploration, Character, Fish, (an indulgence on the part of the owners: the fish is Miss Oatlash's favourite animal) Thought, Sight, and The Pleasure of Always Being Right. Each wing contains a number of Rooms. Some rooms straddle several Wings. The Pleasure of Conversation Rooms, for instance, can be found throughout the entire building, while the Sex Maze permeates every wing except those of Sleep and Childhood. An enthusiastic customer from the North-West once suggested that the entire pleasure house ought to be devoted to sex, an idea the Jailites found very funny.
"Honestly, how restrictive!" Miss Oatlash laughs. "As if pleasure only ever came in one form! My dear man, what on earth would become of the fish?"
On that cryptic note, I left her and retired to a warm bath in the Touch Pleasure Wing's Water Room."
