Lives in: the District of Rhythm and Sorrow, in the city of Gum Gooloo Gum Jublet.

Occupation: Dancer of the Dead.

Comments:
"I am a dancer of the dead -- couched somewhere between a mystic, and a musician. I tirelessly study and revel in the memories of the dead; the ancestors are my constant and sole inspiration. In their memory I perform intricate and elaborate dances to distinctly Goolooian music, replete with veils and bells and staves. It is my job to remember what many have forgotten; to keep alive the memory of those who have, through the individual contributions of their lives, formed the very world in which we exist. I am an enigma--sorrow and ecstasy, serenity and frenzy--all encapsulated in a single female form. My calling came to me in a dream (the likes of which, I am sure, would have inspired the construction of the Orrery sooner, rather than later!). I am always happy to entertain requests, should you have someone you wish to memorialise in dance. I believe that my dance helps to awaken and keep present the very souls of those who have passed on, so that they might guide us into a brilliant future. Physically, I am roughly 167.6cm tall, with a thin build and slight musculature. I have curly blonde hair and large blue eyes, and very pale skin. I dress as dramatically as is appropriate given my profession. I am quite fond of the custom of the jublet totem, and often carry with me a small, well-groomed totem.(By the by, my given name is pronounced "Sheer-ah-noon" and my surname "Win" for those who may be curious!)"

Chirannon's home in the District of Rhythm and Sorrow is a small, bright place shaped roughly like a hemisphere with a circular hole in the centre of the ceiling. There is a net of branches and oiled cloth which can be pulled over the hole when the weather grows rainy or cold; or else the inhabitants can leave it open and enjoy the coolness. The weather in the south is uncomfortably muggy sometimes.
