Ecco Vega Lives: in the town of Top Of The Hill in the Falling Hills province. Occupation: Wandering bard. Comments: "I enjoy writing poetry, listening to music, and discussing philosophy and history. I am young but not young enough, old but not old enough." Ecco Vega's home in Top Of The Hill is positioned at the very edge of the town, overlooking a steep slope. Glass beehives spread out from the bottom of the slope. They pick up every mood of the sun and moon and translate it into their own language, full of glints, curved slices of light and the diffusion of whitened or rosy mists. The native Top Of The Hillian may not understand this language in the same way that he understands speech, but he acquires a knowlege of it in his bones and when he leaves the area he feels that a voice which spoke in persuasive, comforting tones has gone out of his life. The house is short and shaggy, like any other Top Of The Hills house, with two rooms and a smell of dried herbs.
